Hi There!

I’d like to say thank you for visiting; it’s my hope you find inspiration and smiles here. My story is just a small tale that grew from a love of art, animals, interior design, family. and living with a sense of curiosity every day.

I’m Shelly Turner (Gerritsma), and along with my husband and four fur-kids, reside in picturesque Pinehurst, North Carolina. West coast born and raised, now in my forever home in the South, my eclectic style evolved from a nomadic upbringing and love of all things nature.

Since childhood, it’s been pencil, or pen, or crayon, or paintbrush, marker, chalk, (you get the idea), to paper, canvas, wall, (again, you get the idea). Drawing has always been a part of my existence, and a way of expressing my thoughts and emotions, passions, and musings. Art is a feeling that flows through mind and body, and is translated through various mediums. My favorite expressions come from pencil, ink, gouache, and watercolor, and my influences are deeply rooted in the natural world in all its splendor, all things equestrian, and fairytales throughout history. Oh, and don’t forget everything pup related. Heaven knows where we would all be without dogs and horses in the world!
