This Kitchen is a Cook’s Dream!

When clients reached out to Canter Lane requesting a new kitchen design for a historic 1926 Tudor Revival home; we jumped at the chance to bring life back to this exquisite home. After touring the spaces, it was clear that the existing kitchen, baths, and sunroom were is dire need of some updating. The existing kitchen was undersized for this 4000+ SF home, and dated with its pink hued cabinetry and metallic look backsplash tile.

The new homeowner’s knew they had a large task in front of them, with a vision for a larger kitchen space equipped with gas range and chef’s grade cooking elements.

In order to open up the space and create a much larger kitchen and entertaining area, we raised the flooring in the existing sunroom to meet the old kitchen area and rest of the first floor level - which instantly opened up the possibilities for a new layout. From there, the new kitchen plan spanned both spaces, and allowed for the inclusion of a wet bar area that also serves the homeowners as a coffee bar, along with a two seat counter space.

The main cooking area features a 48” commercial grade gas range, custom range hood, GE Monogram appliance suite, and oversized island with ample seating; all while keeping the existing windows in tact, leaving the resulting space airy and bright.
